This Journey
I (Natalia) am an artist and educator, a mother and wife, and much more on any given occasion. I call Northern Colorado my home and am inspired by the beauty that surrounds me.
This body of arts-based research is a spiritual reflection on personal change. How do we respond to former and future generations, interactions with the land, and the participation of time through embodied moments? Knowing the resilience of the human spirit, in what ways are we influenced by time and experience?
I seek to walk towards a universal, spiritual Truth, an Aletheia, that unveils the corners of reality and touches life-saving Beauty beyond our temporal experience. My exploration is intertwined with the process of my own journey as well as the stories I see played out in human history and the lives of others.

Words shape so much of our lives. Whether they be words in a void, prose, or whispers with a good friend. One novel that changed the way I view the world is Till We Have Faces, by C.S. Lewis. The last novel he ever wrote, it is a beautiful retelling of the myth of Psyche and Eros, from the perspective of one of Psyche’s sisters. Within this novel, Psyche is named Istra, and one of the meaningful themes includes unveiling of reality beyond what we humans are able to fully comprehend. This is also where the word Aletheia comes into play, which is the subtitle of several works of art in this digital portfolio.
Why are these words so important to me? I will leave you the opportunity to do some reading and find out for yourself.
